Teo Bun Bo Hue: Experience Authentic Vietnamese Noodles and Soups

05/10/21: 4.75 out of 5 - Came to Tēo as a recommendation from my sister-in-law since we had a guest in town who wanted Bun Bo Hue. We were pleasantly surprised about the restaurant. Upon entering it's intriguingly inviting. Really enjoyed the entry where there is 3 Vespas under the signage. Pretty cool look of feel of the place. The staff were quick to address us and to get us situated quickly. They were very nice, attentive when needed, and quite informative. Not snooty, and definitely not full of non-sensical attitude which has been my experience in many Portland eateries as of late. This was refreshing to see people who wants to actually provide great service. Not sure if this is because of COVID, but there is no menu and there are only (3) items: Bun Bo Hue, Beef Pho and Chicken Pho. Great thing about the Chicken Pho is that it's with chicken broth, as it should be. Not with beef or pork broth like so many other Pho restaurants. We got one of each, and they were all very tasty. Great ingredients, great portion size, and I will say it again...very tasty. Definitely worth the try. I honestly would have like to rate Tēo higher, but there's room for improvement. Would like to see if there will be a menu and if there are other items to try. Will have to come back and see. If you are in the area, I would definitely suggest stopping in and trying it once and decide for yourself. Enjoy!

A Must-Try for BBH Lovers! Tried this restaurant for the first time, and I have to say, it’s hands down the best Bún Bò Huế I’ve had in Oregon! From the moment we walked in, it was a great experience. The restaurant is clean, the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the decor is charming without being over the top. Service was attentive and thoughtful. The owner even noticed I had a baby with me and kindly offered hot water, such a sweet and considerate gesture! Although there was a mix-up with our order and a small error on the check, the staff handled it with kindness and professionalism, quickly resolving everything without hesitation. Now onto the BBH and the chicken pho, the food is absolutely delicious! Flavorful broth, generous portion, and it came with a large plate of fresh vegetables, including dried banana blossom (my favorite!). You can really tell they care about the quality and authenticity of the dish. Highly recommend this spot, a hidden gem and a must-try if you're a fan of BBH!

Very few items on the menu but they sure know what they are doing. Authentic Bun Bo Hue that nails down the taste from Vietnam. Small and neat shop.

Best pho I’ve ever tried. Been to many pho restaurants in Vietnam, South Korea, California. But this is the best I had so far. I will visit Oregon again to try this pho again. I cry at night missing this place.

Only 3 dishes on the menu, so you KNOW it's good. Also they serve really yummy tea that they were super generous with. It's a great spot. Bun bo hue ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - needed more spice for us but they have really good sauces - my partner liked the meats more than me Pho ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - like the meat here more but I'm super picky about the fattiness of a meat - broth is good, it's what you'd expect but no flaws

If you’re looking for bun Bo hue do not miss this spot. Possibly one of the best in the US!! One green flag is that they only have three soups on their menu and they serve you hot tea when you sit down. Don’t expect American helicopter service, they will leave you alone to enjoy your meal which I like. The tendon, fresh veggies, flavorful broth and thinly sliced beef made the soup otherworldly!! I can’t compliment it enough!

When there are only three things on the menu... You know they have mastered them. I've been eating BBH all my life and across the country. This isnt necessarily the best of all time, but the broth is definitely the richest flavor, most complex, and left me fully satisfied. I can't even articulate why it isn't number one, but to be fair I can't tell u why it's not either. If you are craving it, this is the place! Better than the other preferred spot in town. Don't pass this up.

I have never and really enjoyed a Vietnamese meal until my girlfriend brought me here and showed me that I should dip and the meat every bite with a mixture of hoisin sauce and sriracha and eat that with noodles and broth. All that made it . This was quality pho and a clean nice setting with a ton of (assumingly) Vietnamese customers. I had a pretty great experience with authentic good food.
